Microsoft giving away WP7 handsets

Microsoft is now giving away WP7 smartphones, and training for free to woo webOS developers.

“To any published webOS [developers],” Microsoft’s Brandon Watson said on Twitter as HP took the industry by surprise on Friday. “We’ll give you what you need to be successful on Windows Phone, including free phones, dev tools, and training, etc.”

16GB Wi-Fi HP TouchPad only $325

Radio Shack.com is now offering the W-Fi HP Touchpad for only $325. This is on top of the $100 discount already as they have discounted it today for another $75. AT&T’s Mobile Security application

A new app is in the works, and it is AT&T’s Mobile Security application. It is being developed  to protect us from cyber threats. AT&T has collaborated with Juniper Networks to offer this app, as it can help us protect ourselves and our devices. This new mobile security platform will serve us protection, from viruses and malware whilst helping us in application monitoring and control services. According to them, this app won’t be available until later this year, but we’ll keep you posted as soon as we get further updates from the carrier themselves.

Mobile Technology is at large these days, and there are lots of applications being developed to make our lives easier. Now, a new app is being developed and it is called the Cellcrypt Mobile App, and it is said to be for security purposes. Cellcrypt Mobile App is a new mobile app that can provide us with Government grade call encryption in our mobile phones. It has been awarded the CESG Claims Tested Mark as this app can encrypt voice calls on either Android, BlackBerry, iPhone and Nokia smartphones.

“Cellcrypt Mobile uses encryption algorithms that are recommended for military and government secure communications and its secret keys never leave the mobile device. The product has been tested by third parties and validated  to several government standards including US NIST FIPS 140-2 (certificate #1310) for its cryptography and UK CESG Claims Tested Mark for its product implementation.”

The application is free to download from iTunes or other similar app stores though you have to pay for a $600 subscription from Cellcrypt.

Galaxy Tab to head to Australia

Samsung is taking a stand, and letting it be known that soon their Galaxy Tab 10.1 will be heading to Australia sometime soon. Even though Apple has made a few attempts to stop all Tab dales through the Aussie Federal Court. RIM Launches BBM 6

RIM has released a new version of its BlackBerry Messenger, and it is now BBM6. The updated version now supports connected apps, that will provide a much easier way to communicate between blackberries.

The new update allows BBM users to chat with each other from within the app, that they are currently using.

“BBM 6 marks the beginning of an even greater social experience for BlackBerry smartphone users,” said Alistair Mitchell, VP, BBM Platform & Integrated Services at Research In Motion. “It also represents an incredible opportunity for developers to leverage the viral nature of the BBM service and we have already begun working with various developer partners who will be bringing their BBM connected apps to BlackBerry App World this week, offering users highly engaging app experiences.”

A new Windows Phone 7 Mango smartphone is on its way, and it is the Fujitsu Toshiba IS12T Windows Phone 7 handset which is headed for KDDI in Japan.

The Fujitsu Toshiba IS12T will be released this September, and will come with a 3.7 inch touchscreen display that will be powered by a Qualcomm MSM8655 processor.

Other features include a 13.3 megapixel camera, 32GB of built in storage, and will be available in different colorways.

Way back in June, we reported that the guys behind the Chevron WP7 unlock tool would be charging us a fee to unlock our Windows Phone 7 device. Now, it seems that it will cost us about $9 to have your WP7 device unlocked.

The Chevron WP7 team first started out by releasing the tool for free, but then decided to work with Microsoft to release an official unlocking tool. Up until now, there is till no information on when the Chevron WP7 unlock tool will be available, but we’ll keep you posted as soon as we get some more information.
