There had been reports recently that the HTC Desire is shedding some apps in order to run the Google’s most Gingerbread. However after a lot of memory issues, the Desire’s chances of graduating to Gingerbread will need to make the HTC Sense-less.

A Telstra Australia document confirms this, and said that the apparent Gingerbread update has left the Desire completely Sense-less. I guess what we need now, is a phone that has upgradeable memory just like the laptop.

Vizio Tablet to Hit Walmart in 6-weeks?

Everyone loves tablets! In fact, there are lots of tablets available in the market today, but still people seem to find it hard which one is the best. Many are saying that a tablet is great if it’s feature packed, an Android variant and at a good price. Well.. i guess this new Vizio 8-inch tablet is a great choice as it is rumored to sell for $349 and it has nice specs.

The Vizio 8-inch tablet comes with an 8-inch screen and runs an Android OS. The tablet is rumored to hit Walmart for sale in week 26 thanks to a leaked inventory screen from Walmart.

One of the tablet’s highlights is that it works as a universal remote control for Vizio home theater gear like TVs. It also comes with stereo speakers that support stereo in portrait and landscape mode by using three speakers and running two of them depending on the orientation of the screen. If you can hold out on buying for 6-weeks, this tablet will be worth a look.

It seems that Sony Ericsson is working on their new sets of NFC enabled Android smartphones, as NXP Semiconductors N.V. has just announced that they will be supplying Sony Ericsson with the NXP PN65 NFC chip for future Android smartphones.

There are no details given on how exactly Sony Ericsson will use the technology in future NFC Android devices, as well as to the specific models in the works as yet.

“Building on Sony Ericsson’s leadership in Android and mobile gaming, the integration of near field communication into our Android-based Xperia™ portfolio is another step in delivering the most entertaining smartphones,” said Jan Uddenfeldt, Chief Technology Officer at Sony Ericsson.  “NFC offers our consumers the ability to broaden their communication experience beyond the phone, and we are poised to drive the development of new, exciting and creative entertainment experiences.”

It will be interesting to see what Sony Ericsson has planned for this one, and for me, the NFC technology looks promising to their future Android devices.

Our friends over at Android Central have discovered 4 new smartphones which are headed to Sprint, a well known US Mobile Carrier. They have found references to 4 new devices in the Sprint ID app and the devices listed are the LG Optimus B, The LG Q, The Samsung Chief and the Motorola Sunfire.

It seems that the LG Optimus B referes to the LG Optimus Black, which we reviewed recently, the Motorola Sunfire is reported to be Sprint’s version of the Motorola Photon 4G.

It seems that the LG Q and Samsung Chief were not yet confirmed as to what cellphones they actually are, and it is possible that the LG Q could be the new LG Optimus Slider which has been rumored previously.

As always.. we’ll keep you posted as soon as we get some more information on when these new smartphone will be available with Sprint.
